What it is

Museum tags: History; Maritime history; History; Niche history

The Cutty Sark is a former tea clipper, and was the fastest ship of its time. It’s now an immersive experience: explore its deck and cargo hold, take the ship’s wheel, and discover what life was sea was like. Below the ship you can see the Cutty Sark dramatically suspended above you – on the deck you’re rewarded with excellent views across the Thames. It’s great for kids – on weekends and school holidays you can meet the ‘Cutty Sark characters’ including the captain, the cook and Nannie the witch. Other highlights include walking among the ship’s cargo and seeing the crew’s cramped cabins.
