My personal take on Japan House
Japan House is a lovely spot on Kensington High Street, with a beautiful building and a gorgeous shop that’s worth a visit in its own right. It’s close to the Design Museum and not too far from the other big South Ken museums, but has a completely different feel.

The temporary exhibitions are pretty high-tech and well put together, usually covering interesting topics that sit somewhere between design, culture and technology. They’re never huge, but always worth popping in for – especially if you’re interested in Japanese culture and craftsmanship. And it’s free.
