One of London’s outermost boroughs, where the city begins to turn into the countryside, Harrow is home to an excellent range of museums.
My pick of the bunch is Headstone Manor & Museum, a Scheduled Ancient Monument which features four listed buildings and exhibitions about the boroughs history. Bentley Priory Museum is another hidden gem, an important RAF building during WW2, telling the story of the Battle of Britain.
Harrow is perhaps best known for its exclusive boarding school, Harrow School, which has a gallery exhibiting treasures from its collection.

Nearby you’ll also find one of London’s most beautiful buildings, BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir (Neasden Temple), which hosts a small museum about Hinduism, and the excellent Battle of Britain Bunker in Hillingdon, which is found in an underground WWII operations room at RAF Uxbridge.
