What it is

Museum tags: Science and technology; Technology; Space; Timekeeping

An observatory in Greenwich Park which played a huge role in the history of astronomy and navigation. Also the birthplace of modern timekeeping, home to the Prime Meridian line (giving us Greenwich Mean Time). Excellent exhibitions about time and space; one of the UK’s largest telescopes; and a world-class modern planetarium.

My personal take on The Royal Observatory
One of my favourite museums in London, with a lot to discover. It’s a beautiful, historic space to explore, with wide-ranging and fascinating exhibits. Plus, it’s worth walking up the hill to the Royal Observatory for the views over Greenwich and to Canary Wharf.

If you can, I’d recommend getting tickets for a Planetarium show – well worth the extra cost.
